PROCEEDINGS

December 11, 2017

 

            The Highmore-Harrold Board of Education met in regular session on December 11, 2017 in the business classroom at 6:30 pm. Members present: Michael Bollweg, Clint Buchholz, Jennifer Semmler, Paula Haiwick, Paul Knox, Jim Stephenson, Rod Domke, Principal Grant Vander Vorst, Mark Chilson Business Manager, Superintendent Quinton Cermak, Asst. Bus. Man. Jennifer Farstveet.

     President Buchholz called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm and the pledge of allegiance was recited.

    Semmler/Haiwick moved to approve the agenda with a correction of the previous minutes date and the rest as presented. The motion passed.

    Stephenson/Bollweg moved to approve the minutes of the November 13th meeting. The motion passed.

    Bills and financial statements were reviewed and approved for payment on a motion by Bollweg/Domke  and read as follows:

    The Board held an Indian Policies and Procedures Forum.

    The Board was addressed for Conflicts and Disclosures.

    The Board heard the superintendent’s report including but not limited to the Governor’s address; Joint Committee Appropriations; Snow day makeup’s (same of last school year); BB classes survey; superintendent evaluation; Board activity passes; Semester Test Schedule.

    The Board heard the principal’s report including but not limited to monthly review; student council projects—food drive, lunch survey; SDSU extension nutrition classes; upcoming activities; health lessons; Jump Rope for Heart; Imagine Learning grant.

    Domke/Knox moved to approve the second reading of Interest Revenue Deposit Policy. The motion passed.

    The Board heard a building project update.

    Knox/Stephenson moved to approve the contract to Rebecca Palmer as teacher aide for the remainder of 2018 school year for $7,350.00. The motion passed.

    The Board held a strategic goals setting plan for capital outlay and other funds.

    Haiwick/Semmler moved to set January’s next regular meeting for January 10, 2018 (Wednesday) at 5:30 pm (GBB @ WW) in the business classroom. The motion passed.

    Domke/Haiwick moved to adjourn at 7:47 pm. The motion passed.
