Quinton Cermak, Superintendent/Special Education Director

I am Quinton Cermak, and I want to welcome all of you to the 2023-2024 school year!  I am proud to begin my eighth year as Superintendent and 11th year overall in the Highmore-Harrold School District.  I am a 1996 graduate of Highmore High School, a 2001 graduate of the University of South Dakota with a degree in History Education and a minor in Social Studies and coaching, a 2012 graduate of the University of Phoenix with my Masters in Education/Administration and Supervision, and a 2016 graduate of the University of Sioux Falls with my Ed. Specialist, Superintendent degree. I am beginning my 22nd year in education, and my eleventh as a school administrator.

I started my teaching and coaching career at Bennett County High School in Martin, SD. I spent five years as a high school social studies teacher, as well as a coach for boys and girls basketball, football, track, and Legion baseball. From there I spent one year at Stanley County High School in Ft. Pierre, SD as the high school social studies teacher and head football coach. My last stop as a teacher was the Pierre School District, where I spent five years as a middle school social studies teacher, assistant football coach, assistant boys basketball coach and middle school girls track coach.  From Pierre I came to Highmore where I spent the first three years as K-12 Principal.  I am married to Georgette Cermak and we have three children, Chase 20, Kendall 17, and Logan 13.
