College visit dates

Lake Area Senior Tech Days are November 1, 2018 and January 31, 2019. Any senior interested in attending, see Ms. B for more information.

A representative from Mitchell Technical Institute will be here Monday, October 29 at 12:00 in the conference room.

Black Hills State University will be hosting a Yellow Jacket reception at the Ramkota Hotel in Pierre on October 23.  The event starts at 6:00 P.M.  Refreshments will be served. This is a good opportunity to find out more about BHSU.

 

MEETINGS

JUNIORS:  We will have a prom meeting to present prom theme ideas on Tuesday, November 6.  There is a sign-up sheet in the FACS room to sign up for a theme committee.  Speak with Mrs. Kroeplin if you have any questions or want to borrow some of the prom books.  A committee can be one person or as many as you want.

FCCLA Members: There will be a Haunted House Committee Meeting on Wednesday, October 17.  Mrs. Kroeplin is looking for a Haunted House Committee Chairperson if anyone is interested please speak with Mrs. Kroeplin by Monday, the 15.

Jostens will be here Tuesday from 10:45 – 11:45 and again on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00.  On both days, seniors will have their meeting first, followed by sophomores.  All Jostens meetings will be in Mr. Liechti’s room.  Sophomores need to report to Mr. Ring’s room on Tuesday for the beginning of 4th period.

 

Grade 6-8 girls basketball practice starts Monday, 10/22, any of you that weren’t out for a fall sport need to have all your paperwork in before then, see Mr. Ring ASAP for that.  Any other non-fall winter athletes could get that done ASAP too.

ACT STUDY COURSE:  The Huron Community Campus is offering a unique opportunity for students to complete an ACT study course over 4 weeks right in Miller!

The course needs a minimum of 20 students to be offered. Right now there are 14 students registered. The course will be open to students from surrounding schools as well as Miller High School students.

The cost of the course is $60 per student.  Averaging to $15 per session, that is an excellent value for 12 hours of instruction in the areas of Math, English, Reading and Science in preparation for the ACT.   The next ACT exam in Miller is December 8, 2018. 

Classes run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the following Sunday Evenings in the Miller High School Testing Room

  • Sunday, December 2

 

Please sign up no later than OCTOBER 19, 2018 by calling the Miller High School Office at 605-853-2455 and speaking with Robin or Courtney. 

FCCLA Members are currently selling frozen foods.  Forms and MONEY are due back by Wednesday, October 24.  If you did not pick up a form yet, please do so ASAP. 

ATTENTION JUNIORS AND PARENTS: We need two juniors to work the concessions table Friday 10/19 and parents as well. Please come see Jessica in the office. Thanks!
