BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING MINUTES

 

May 2, 2016

High School Business Room

5:00 PM

     

The Highmore-Harrold School Board of Education met in special session on May 2, 2016 in the High School Business Room at 5:00 pm. Members present: Michael Bollweg, Paula Haiwick, Paul Knox, Jim Stephenson, Jennifer Semmler, Clint Buchholz. Kris Rittel was absent. Others present: Superintendent Chip Sundberg, Business Manager Mark Chilson, Principal Quinton Cermak.

Vice-President Bollweg called the meeting to order from at 5:00 pm.

The pledge of allegiance was recited.

    Knox/Semmler moved to approve the agenda with an addition for an executive session. The motion passed.

      The Board held a discussion on the resignation of superintendent Sundberg. Buchholz/Knox moved to accept the resignation with the “broken contract fee” in effective. The motion passed.

    The Board held a discussion on filling the superintendent vacancy.

Semmler/Haiwick moved to enter into executive session at 5:10 pm for the purpose of personnel SDCL: 1-25-2(1). The motion passed.

    The Board came out of executive session at 5:24 pm.

    After further discussion the Board directed Superintendent Sundberg to list the superintendent/SPED director position opening on the appropriate web sites and set application deadline at May 18th and interviews to be set up for May 24th.

            Haiwick/Stephenson moved to adjourn at 5:51 pm. The motion passed.
